The Learning Triangle

PHYSICAL DEVELOPMENT

Senses-the fundamental senses of seeing, tasting, hearing, smelling & feeling encourage a child's curiosity & activate their minds to discover the things around their world. Toys with strong stimuli in this category are tremendously important for the early stages of child development.

Fine Motor Skills-these are smaller actions like picking things up between the thumb & finger or using the toes to wriggle or the lips & tongue to taste & feel objects.

Gross Motor Skills-these are larger movements involving the arm, leg or feet muscles or the entire body-toys that enhance kicking, crawling, running & jumping are meant to train a child's gross motor skills.

MENTAL DEVELOPMENT

Logical Intelligence-the ability to make connections between pieces of information. Toys like Puzzles & Building Blocks help strengthen a child's intelligenge of logic, sequence, conceptualization, reasoning & finally problem solving.

Artistic Intelligence-the ability to learn about colors, shapes & forms, to draw lines, to appreciate music & rhythm & to understand proportion & perspective.

Linguistic Intelligence-the ability to use sound & language for expression & comprehension of others while a child is developing. Toys that enhance sensitivity to the meaning of words, sounds, rhythms & inflections are good for linguistic development.

SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT

Emotion-a child should be able to control & express their emotions. Feeling being loved & protected develops his sense of security. Toys that can become a child's pal & help them to express emotion are very important for a child to learn how to interact effectively with others with mutual trust.

Communication Skills-the ability to to interact appropriately with others. Good communication skills lead a child to perform cooperative tasks & become productive team members.

Self Esteem-an overall sense of achievement a child feels from the important people around him, particularly parents & peers. When a child can complete the task offered by a toy, they feel good about themselves. It helps build up a stronger self-esteem with a better judgement about their own worth.
